Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS family members that can turn up in household water. Kendall West homeowners often hear about it after receiving a water test, a utility notice, or simply asking what’s in their tap water. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and not always easy to remove, many families prefer treating water at the point it enters the home so reduction happens for drinking, cooking, showering, and other everyday uses.
PFBA may be present even when your water looks and tastes normal, and it can occur alongside other PFAS compounds—which is why some residents in the Miami-Dade area opt for solutions that target a broader group of these chemicals rather than relying on a simple taste-and-odor cartridge. The right first step for a Kendall West household is an up-to-date water analysis so you know what’s in your supply; from there a whole-house system can be sized to your home and local water conditions, including the area’s typically hard water.
To cut PFBA where water enters your house, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including many PFAS, as water moves through the carbon media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed to improve reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in your Kendall West home, while also helping reduce common nuisance compounds that carbon captures.
Because PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, performance comes down to carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a cartridge. At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house GAC systems for Kendall West homes to match household demand and account for the Miami-Dade area’s hard water so the media maintains effective contact time. Regular media replacement is important to prevent exhaustion; if your test shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help choose a configuration that emphasizes PFBA reduction while addressing broader PFAS concerns.
