Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS family members that can turn up in household water. In Key Colony Beach, homeowners often discover it after a private test, a utility notice, or when they’re checking what’s in their drinking supply. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and can be hard to remove once present, many families on the island prefer a whole-home approach that lowers it everywhere water is used — from drinking and cooking to showers and laundry — giving greater peace of mind for daily life near Sadowski Causeway and Sunset Park.
PFBA may be present even when your water looks clear and tastes normal, and it can occur alongside other PFAS compounds. That’s why Key Colony Beach residents often opt for treatment options designed to address a broader spectrum of PFAS rather than relying on a simple taste-and-odor cartridge. Start with a recent water analysis so you know what’s in your supply; with those results, we can recommend a whole-house system sized for your home, whether you live near Coury Drive, the Woods Avenue area, or elsewhere in the city.
To reduce PFBA where water enters your Key Colony Beach home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is typically the most effective single-filter option. GAC removes many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, by adsorbing them as water flows through the carbon bed. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed to treat every faucet, shower, and appliance, while also improving overall water quality by removing common nuisance compounds.
PFBA can be tougher to capture than some larger PFAS, so performance depends on carbon grade, bed depth, and flow rate — not just installing a cartridge. At Mr. Pure Water we size whole-house GAC systems for Key Colony Beach households, taking into account moderate water hardness and typical family demand so the media gets proper exposure time. Regular media replacement keeps the carbon from becoming exhausted; if your testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help design a configuration that prioritizes PFBA reduction while addressing broader PFAS treatment goals, especially useful with coastal salt air and seasonal outage concerns.
