Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS chemicals that sometimes turns up in household water. Lindgren homeowners usually hear about it after a private test, a utility communication, or while researching what’s in their drinking water. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and can be hard to remove once present, many families in our humid subtropical area prefer a whole-home treatment strategy that reduces it throughout the house. Tackling it early gives you greater peace of mind for water used in drinking, cooking, and bathing.
Even when water in Lindgren looks clear and tastes fine, PFBA may still be present. It can occur together with other PFAS, which is why some homeowners opt for systems that address a wider group of these compounds rather than only treating taste or odor. If PFBA is a concern for your household, start with an up-to-date water analysis so you know what contaminants are present. From those results we can recommend a whole-house system sized to your home and water use patterns.
To reduce PFBA at the main water entry for Lindgren homes, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the single most effective filter choice. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, as water moves through the carbon media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for improved reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in your home, while also cutting common nuisance compounds that carbon captures.
Because PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, effective treatment depends on factors like carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a cartridge. Mr. Pure Water configures whole-house GAC systems for Lindgren households to preserve proper contact time through the media based on typical demand. Routine media replacement is essential so the carbon doesn’t become exhausted. If testing reveals multiple PFAS, we’ll help you choose a setup that prioritizes PFBA reduction while addressing broader PFAS treatment goals.
