Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can turn up in household water. Lloyd homeowners usually hear about it after a private test, a utility bulletin, or when researching what’s in their drinking water. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and not always easy to manage, many families in the area choose a treatment that reduces it throughout the whole house. Tackling it early gives you more confidence in the water you use for drinking, cooking, and bathing in Lloyd.
PFBA may be present even when water looks clear, tastes normal, and has no smell. It can appear alongside other PFAS compounds, which is why some Lloyd residents opt for systems that address a broader group of these contaminants rather than a simple taste-and-odor filter. If PFBA is a concern for your household, the smartest first move is an up-to-date water analysis so the scope is clear. From that point, a properly sized whole-house system can be chosen to match your home and water use.
To reduce PFBA at the point the water enters your home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. Carbon filtration adsorbs many organic contaminants, including various PFAS compounds, as water moves through the media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for improved reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in your Lloyd home. This choice can also improve overall water quality by removing common nuisance compounds that carbon captures.
Because PFBA can be more difficult to remove than some larger PFAS, performance comes down to carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just having a cartridge in line. Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house GAC systems to meet household demand in Lloyd so the media gets effective contact time. Regular media replacement is important to prevent exhaustion and loss of capacity. If your testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you pick a configuration that prioritizes PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
