Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is a PFAS that can turn up in household water, and many Majette homeowners first hear about it from a private test, a utility notice, or conversations about water safety. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and can be hard to manage once present, families often prefer a whole-home treatment that reduces it throughout the house. Taking action early gives you greater peace of mind about the water you use for drinking, cooking, and bathing in Majette.
PFBA may be present even when your water is clear, tastes fine, and has no smell, and it can occur alongside other PFAS — which is why many homeowners in Majette choose systems that address a broader range of these compounds instead of just basic taste-and-odor filters. The first step is a current water analysis so you know what’s in your supply. From that point, a properly sized whole-house system can be selected to match your home and water use patterns in Majette.
To reduce PFBA where water enters a Majette home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is commonly the most effective single-filter option. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, as water passes through the carbon media. A correctly sized GAC tank provides the necessary contact time to improve reduction and protects every faucet, shower, and appliance, while also lowering nuisance compounds that carbon commonly captures.
Because PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, effectiveness depends on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate — not just installing a carbon cartridge. Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house GAC systems for Majette residences to match household demand and preserve sufficient contact time in the media. Regular media replacement is important so the carbon doesn’t become exhausted; if your testing reveals multiple PFAS, we can recommend a configuration that prioritizes PFBA reduction while supporting wider PFAS treatment goals.
