Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS compounds that can show up in household water. Nixon homeowners often hear about it after a private test, a conversation with their water provider, or when they’re checking what’s in tap water. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and not always easy to remove, many families choose a homewide treatment so the water used for drinking, cooking, and bathing feels safer. Tackling it across the whole house gives local households greater confidence in everyday water use.
PFBA may be present even when your water looks and tastes normal. It can occur alongside other PFAS, which is why Nixon residents sometimes prefer systems that address a broader group of these compounds rather than simple taste-and-odor fixes. A current water analysis is the best first move so you know what’s in your supply; from there we can recommend a whole-house system scaled to your home and typical water use.
To reduce PFBA at the point where water enters a Nixon home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. As water flows through the carbon media it adsorbs many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS compounds. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for improved reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in the house, while also cutting down on other nuisance compounds carbon captures.
Because smaller PFAS like PFBA can be harder to capture, performance depends on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a cartridge. Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house GAC systems for Nixon households to match demand and preserve effective contact time in the media. Regular media replacement is important so the carbon doesn’t become exhausted. If your testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help select a configuration focused on PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
