Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS family that can turn up in household water. Nurmi Isles homeowners usually hear about it after a lab test, a utility communication, or when researching water quality near Fort Lauderdale. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment, many families prefer a treatment that reduces it everywhere in the house — not just at a single tap — so they can feel confident about water used for drinking, cooking, and bathing in our humid, coastal community.
PFBA may be present even when water looks, smells, and tastes normal, and it can occur along with other PFAS compounds. That’s why Nurmi Isles residents often choose systems that address a broader range of PFAS instead of relying on a simple taste-and-odor filter. The right first move is a recent water analysis so you have a clear picture; from there a whole-house solution can be sized to your household and local water use patterns, taking into account South Florida’s moderate water hardness.
To reduce PFBA at the point where water enters a Nurmi Isles home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC media adsorbs many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, as water passes through the tank. A correctly sized GAC system provides the necessary contact time to treat every faucet, shower, and appliance, and it also helps cut common nuisance compounds that carbon captures — useful in Broward County’s moderately hard water.
Because PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, performance depends on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate — not just installing a small carbon cartridge. Mr. Pure Water configures whole-house GAC systems for Nurmi Isles homes to match household demand so the media sees proper exposure time. Regular media replacement keeps the carbon effective; if testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll recommend a system configuration that emphasizes PFBA reduction while addressing broader PFAS treatment needs.
