Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS compounds that can turn up in household water. Ocean Vue homeowners usually hear about it after a private test, a utility communication, or when they’re asking what’s in their drinking water. Because PFBA persists in the environment and can be hard to address once present, many local families choose a home-wide treatment strategy so everyone in the house — from infants to seniors — has reduced exposure for drinking, cooking and bathing.
PFBA may be present even if your water looks and tastes fine. It can also occur along with other PFAS, which is why some Ocean Vue residents opt for filtration that targets a broader class of these chemicals rather than a simple taste-and-odor cartridge. A current water analysis is the best first step so you know what’s in your supply; from there we can size a whole-house system to match your home and household water use.
To reduce PFBA at the point water enters your house, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC treats water by adsorbing organic contaminants, including many PFAS, as water flows through the carbon bed. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for better reduction and protects every faucet, shower and appliance in your Ocean Vue home while also improving overall water quality by removing nuisance organics.
PFBA can be trickier to remove than some other PFAS, so performance relies on carbon quality, bed depth and flow rate — not just adding a small cartridge. Mr. Pure Water customizes whole-house GAC systems for Ocean Vue houses, taking account of humid subtropical conditions and the potential for salt-air corrosion on equipment near the coast. Proper sizing maintains effective contact time, and timely media replacement prevents exhaustion. If testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help configure a system that targets PFBA while supporting broader PFAS reduction goals.
