Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS compounds that can be found in household water. Ocheesee homeowners commonly hear about it after a private test, a utility update, or when researching contaminants in their drinking supply. Because PFBA persists in the environment and can be hard to address once present, many families in Ocheesee prefer a treatment that reduces it across the entire house so drinking, cooking, and bathing water are treated consistently.
Even when water in Ocheesee looks clear and tastes normal, PFBA may still be present, and it can appear along with other PFAS. That’s why some residents choose systems that target a wider group of PFAS rather than relying on simple taste-and-odor filters. Start with a current water analysis to confirm what’s in your supply, then size a whole-house system to your home and household water use for the best results.
To reduce PFBA where water enters an Ocheesee home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC removes many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, by adsorbing them as water flows through the carbon media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed to improve PFBA reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in the house, while also helping with other nuisance compounds carbon captures.
Because PFBA can be more difficult to remove than some larger PFAS, performance hinges on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a cartridge. Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house GAC systems for Ocheesee homes to match household demand and preserve adequate contact time in the media. Regular media replacement keeps the system working before the carbon becomes exhausted, and if your test shows multiple PFAS we’ll help select a configuration focused on PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
