Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one member of the PFAS family that can show up in household water. Local homeowners in Patrick AFB often hear about it after a private test, a water-quality question, or notifications about contaminants in the region. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment, many families on the Space Coast prefer a treatment that reduces it throughout the house so they can feel confident about the water they use for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
PFBA won’t change how your water looks, tastes, or smells, and it can occur alongside other PFAS — which is why some Patrick AFB residents choose systems that address a broader group of compounds rather than a basic taste-and-odor filter. The recommended first step is a current water analysis so you know what’s present. From those results we can size a whole-house solution to fit homes in Brevard County, accounting for local hard water and typical household use.
To reduce PFBA at the service entry, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC reduces many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, as water passes through the media. A correctly sized GAC tank delivers the contact time needed to treat every faucet, shower, and appliance in Patrick AFB homes and can also address nuisance compounds commonly found in hard Space Coast water.
PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, so performance depends on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate — not just a carbon cartridge. Mr. Pure Water engineers whole-house GAC systems for Patrick AFB households to maintain the necessary contact time with the media and match your household demand. Regular media replacement keeps the carbon effective; if testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help select a configuration that prioritizes PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
