Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can be found in household water, and Paxton homeowners often hear about it after a private test or utility communication. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and not always easy to manage, many families in and around Paxton prefer a treatment that reduces it throughout the house. Tackling it early gives you greater peace of mind for cooking, drinking, bathing, and laundry.
Even when water from Paxton taps looks clear, tastes normal, and has no smell, PFBA can still be present — sometimes alongside other PFAS. That’s why residents often choose solutions that address a broader group of these compounds instead of relying on a simple taste-and-odor cartridge. The first practical step is an up-to-date water analysis so you know what’s in your supply; from there we can recommend a whole-house system sized to your home and daily water use.
To reduce PFBA at the point it enters a Paxton home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including a number of PFAS, as water flows through the media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for improved reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in the house — plus it helps remove other nuisance compounds carbon captures.
Because PFBA can be tougher to capture than some larger PFAS, performance depends on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate — not just having a small carbon cartridge on the line. Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house GAC systems to match Paxton household demand so the media maintains effective contact time. Regular media replacement is essential before the carbon becomes exhausted; if your testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you pick a configuration that emphasizes PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
