Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one member of the PFAS family that can turn up in household water. Pine Barren homeowners typically discover it through a private test, a notice from their utility, or questions about tap water quality. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and can be hard to address once present, many families in Pine Barren choose a treatment that reduces it across the entire house so they can feel better about water for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
PFBA may be present even when water looks clear, tastes normal, and has no smell. It can appear alongside other PFAS, which is why some Pine Barren residents opt for systems that target a broader group of these compounds rather than relying only on a basic taste-and-odor filter. The best first step is a current water analysis so you know what’s in your supply; from that point we can size a whole-house system to match your Pine Barren home and daily water use.
To reduce PFBA at the point where water enters a Pine Barren house, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. Carbon works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, as water flows through the media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for improved reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in your home, while also helping with other nuisance compounds carbon captures.
Because PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, performance hinges on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a carbon cartridge. Mr. Pure Water tailors whole-house GAC systems for Pine Barren homes to preserve effective contact time through the media. Regular media replacement keeps the carbon from becoming exhausted and losing capacity. If testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you pick a configuration that prioritizes PFBA reduction while addressing broader PFAS treatment goals.
