Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS compounds that can show up in household water. In Secotan, homeowners typically hear about it after a private test, a utility communication, or when researching what's in their drinking water. Because PFBA persists in the environment and can be tough to manage once present, many families in the area choose a treatment strategy that reduces it throughout the entire house. Tackling it at the source helps you feel more confident about water you use for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
PFBA may be present even when your water looks, smells, and tastes normal. It can also occur along with other PFAS, which is why some Secotan homeowners opt for systems designed to address a broader group of these compounds rather than a simple taste-and-odor cartridge. If PFBA is a concern for your household, start with a current water analysis so you know what needs treatment. From that point, we can size a whole-house system to fit your home and daily water use patterns in Secotan.
To reduce PFBA where water enters a Secotan home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, as water moves through the carbon media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for meaningful reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in your house. This method also helps with other nuisance compounds that carbon commonly removes, improving overall water quality.
PFBA can be harder to remove than some larger PFAS, so performance relies on the quality of the carbon, bed depth, and flow rate—not just having a small cartridge in place. At Mr. Pure Water, we design whole-house GAC systems to match your household demand in Secotan, preserving effective contact time through the media. Regular media replacement is important to prevent exhaustion and loss of capacity. If your test shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you choose a configuration that prioritizes PFBA reduction while addressing broader PFAS treatment needs.
