Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS chemicals homeowners sometimes find in their water. In Snug Harbor, residents may learn about it from a private well test, a municipal notice, or routine water testing — and because PFBA is persistent in the environment, many families prefer treating it throughout the house rather than only at a single faucet. Taking action early gives you greater confidence in the water you use for drinking, cooking, and bathing, whether you’re on the municipal supply or a local well.
PFBA won’t necessarily change how your water looks, smells, or tastes, so it can be present without obvious signs. It can also appear alongside other PFAS, which is why some Snug Harbor homeowners opt for systems that address a broader group of these chemicals rather than just a simple taste-and-odor cartridge. Start with an up-to-date water analysis so you know what’s in your supply; from that point, a whole-house system can be sized to your home and expected water use patterns.
To reduce PFBA at the point where water enters a Snug Harbor home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the single most effective filter option. GAC removes many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, by adsorbing them as water flows through the carbon media. When the tank is properly sized it provides the contact time needed to improve reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in the house.
Because PFBA can be tougher to remove than some longer-chain PFAS, results depend on factors like carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate — not just installing a small cartridge. Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house GAC systems for Snug Harbor homes to match household demand and maintain effective contact time. Regular media replacement keeps the carbon from becoming exhausted, and if your test shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you choose a configuration that emphasizes PFBA reduction while addressing broader treatment needs.
