Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one member of the PFAS family that can show up in household water supplies. In Telogia many homeowners first hear about it after a private test, a utility update, or questions about what’s in their water. Because PFBA is persistent and can be hard to manage once it’s in the environment, families often choose a treatment that reduces it throughout the entire house. Tackling it early gives you more confidence in the water you use for drinking, cooking, and bathing around Telogia.
PFBA may be present even when water looks clear, tastes normal, and has no odor. It can occur alongside other PFAS, which is why some Telogia residents prefer systems that address a broader range of these compounds instead of relying on a basic taste-and-odor filter. If PFBA is a concern, start with a current water analysis so you know what’s in your supply; from there we can size the right whole-house system for your home and water use in the area.
To reduce PFBA at the point where water enters a Telogia home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. Carbon filtration adsorbs many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, as water moves through the media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for better reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in your house, while also improving overall water quality by removing common nuisance compounds GAC captures.
Because PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, performance hinges on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a cartridge. Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house GAC systems to match Telogia household demand so the media maintains effective contact time. Regular replacement of the carbon is important so it doesn’t become exhausted. If testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you choose a configuration that prioritizes PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
