Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS group of chemicals that can be detected in household water. Treasure Coast homeowners often discover it after a private test, a utility advisory, or when they're researching what’s in their tap water. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment, many families on the Treasure Coast — from Jensen Beach to Vero Beach — choose a treatment strategy that reduces PFBA throughout the entire home so they can feel confident about water for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
PFBA may be present even when your water is clear and tastes normal, and it can occur together with other PFAS. That’s why some Treasure Coast residents opt for solutions that address a broader range of these compounds instead of relying on a simple taste-and-odor filter. The sensible first step is an up-to-date water analysis for your property — especially in coastal areas where older plumbing and hurricane-season disruptions can affect supply — and then choosing a whole-house system sized to your household’s water use.
To reduce PFBA at the point of entry, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS compounds, as water moves through the media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the necessary contact time to improve reduction and provides treated water to every faucet, shower, and appliance across Treasure Coast homes — helping with both PFAS concerns and common nuisance compounds.
Because PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, performance hinges on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate rather than simply installing a small cartridge. At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house GAC systems for Treasure Coast households — from Port St. Lucie to Fort Pierce — to ensure adequate contact time for your family’s demand. Regular media replacement is important so the carbon doesn’t become exhausted; if your testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help configure a system that targets PFBA while supporting broader PFAS reduction goals.
