Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is a member of the PFAS family that can appear in household water. In Waddells Mill, homeowners hear about it from private testing, utility communications, or questions about water quality, and many prefer a treatment that reduces PFBA everywhere in the house. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment, tackling it with a whole-home approach gives families greater confidence in the water they use for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
PFBA may be present even when your water looks, smells, and tastes normal, and it can occur alongside other PFAS. That’s why some Waddells Mill residents opt for systems designed to address a broader range of PFAS instead of simple taste-and-odor filters. Start with an up-to-date water test so you know what’s in your supply, and then size a whole-house system to match your home’s needs and water use.
To reduce PFBA at the main water entry to your Waddells Mill home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, as water moves through the carbon media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for improved reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance while also addressing common nuisance compounds that carbon captures.
PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, so results depend on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a carbon cartridge. Mr. Pure Water configures whole-house GAC systems for Waddells Mill homes to maintain effective contact time through the media. Regular media replacement keeps the carbon from becoming exhausted, and if your testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help select a setup that prioritizes PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
