Including filter system and high-performance PFDA filter.
PFDA is one member of the PFAS family that’s used in industry because it stands up to heat and harsh chemicals. Like other “forever chemicals,” it can persist in the environment and reach drinking water through manufacturing releases, disposal sites, or runoff, and it usually won’t change the taste, smell, or appearance of your water. Betts homeowners who are worried about PFDA should start with a certified laboratory test of their water and then pick a treatment method designed to address PFAS specifically.
PFAS describes a wide group of related compounds, with PFDA being one example, and these don’t behave like ordinary nuisance problems such as chlorine or mineral hardness. Removing them requires the right filtration media and sufficient contact time to capture the chemicals. While point-of-use devices protect a single sink or fridge, many families in Betts prefer whole-house protection so every shower, laundry load, and faucet gets treated water. A single, centralized system also makes upkeep simpler than managing several small filters around the house.
For whole-home treatment of PFDA, the most effective single-filter choice is a high-quality granular activated carbon (GAC) system engineered for PFAS reduction. GAC removes PFAS by adsorbing them onto its extensive internal surface, and a correctly sized tank provides the necessary contact time for better removal. Because PFDA can be harder to treat than routine taste-and-odor issues, the carbon media and system design should be selected with PFAS performance in mind rather than just chlorine removal.
A properly installed whole-house GAC filter sits at the main water entry to your Betts home, delivering treated water for drinking, bathing, cooking, and laundry. To perform well it must be sized to match your household flow and usage—undersized systems can lose contact time when demand is high—and the carbon media needs periodic replacement since it eventually reaches capacity. Mr. Pure Water can assess your home’s needs and install a PFDA-focused whole-house carbon system set up for dependable, home-wide protection.
