Including filter system and high-performance PFDA filter.
PFDA is one member of the broader PFAS family, used in industry for chemical and heat resistance and known for persisting in the environment. Like other “forever chemicals,” it can enter drinking water through manufacturing, disposal, or runoff, and it usually won’t change taste, smell, or appearance — only a lab test can reliably detect it. If you live in Eridu and are worried about PFDA, start by testing your water and then choose a treatment plan designed specifically to address PFAS.
PFAS is a large group of related compounds, and PFDA behaves differently than common nuisance issues such as chlorine or hard water, so it requires a filter with the right media and sufficient contact time to remove. While a point-of-use device can protect a single sink, many Eridu homeowners prefer whole-house protection so every shower, faucet, and appliance receives treated water. Putting treatment at the main line also makes maintenance simpler than managing several under-sink units.
The most effective single-filter option for whole-house removal of PFDA is a properly designed granular activated carbon (GAC) system built for PFAS reduction. GAC removes PFDA by adsorbing molecules onto a huge internal surface area, and correctly sized tanks give the contact time needed for better removal. Because PFDA can be tougher to capture than chlorine, the carbon media must be chosen and engineered with PFAS performance in mind rather than just taste or odor control. With the right design, a whole-house GAC unit will reduce PFDA before water reaches taps across your Eridu home.
A correctly installed whole-house GAC filter sits at the point where water enters your Eridu home so drinking, bathing, laundry, and cooking all benefit. System performance hinges on selecting the right size for your household flow and usage, since undersized units can cut contact time and lower effectiveness. The carbon media also needs periodic replacement because its adsorption capacity is limited. Mr. Pure Water can work with you to select a PFDA-focused whole-house carbon system sized for your home and to handle professional installation and ongoing maintenance.
