Including filter system and high-performance PFDA filter.
PFDA is one member of the PFAS family and is used in industry because it resists heat and chemicals. Like other “forever chemicals,” it can persist in soil and water and may enter drinking water from manufacturing, disposal, or runoff. Because PFDA usually has no taste, smell, or visible signs, the only way to know if it’s present is through lab testing. New Eden homeowners concerned about PFDA should start with a reliable water test and then pick a treatment plan that specifically targets PFAS.
PFDA is one of many PFAS compounds, and they don’t behave like routine nuisance issues such as chlorine or mineral hardness. Effective removal requires media and contact time designed for these chemicals. While a point-of-use filter can protect a single sink, many families in New Eden prefer whole-house protection so showers, appliances, and all faucets receive treated water. Installing treatment at the main line also makes maintenance simpler than managing multiple small filters around the home.
For whole-house removal of PFDA, the single most effective filter choice is a high-quality granular activated carbon (GAC) system built for PFAS reduction. GAC removes PFAS by adsorbing them onto a very large surface area, and appropriately sized tanks ensure the contact time needed for improved performance. Because PFDA can be stubborn, the carbon media should be selected and engineered specifically for PFAS rather than for basic chlorine or taste issues. When designed correctly, a whole-house GAC system can reduce PFDA before water reaches every tap in your New Eden home.
A properly installed whole-house GAC filter goes on the main water line so treated water is available for bathing, cooking, laundry, and drinking. Performance hinges on correct sizing to match your household flow and usage—especially important in humid subtropical New Eden where household demand can vary—because an undersized system cuts contact time. The carbon media also needs periodic replacement since its adsorption capacity is limited. Mr. Pure Water can assess whether your New Eden home is on a municipal supply or a private well and recommend and install a PFDA-focused whole-house carbon system tailored to your needs.
