Including filter system and high-performance PFDoA filter.
PFDoA is a type of PFAS often called a “forever chemical” because it can remain in the environment and in water for a very long time. Century homeowners may be hearing about PFAS more in the news and wondering if similar compounds could be in their own tap water. Even when your water looks clear and tastes normal, PFDoA and related PFAS can be present without any smell, color, or flavor — which is why awareness, testing, and targeted treatment are important next steps for local households.
PFDoA can reach water supplies through industrial uses and everyday products that rely on fluorinated chemistry, and once released it can travel significant distances. Because PFAS act differently than common problems like sediment or hardness, a basic cartridge for dirt and rust won’t reliably remove them. Many Century residents choose a treatment that works where water enters the house so all taps are covered; a whole-house system reduces exposure during bathing, laundry, cooking and other daily uses.
For PFDoA, the most effective single home filter is a high-quality granular activated carbon (GAC) whole-house system specifically designed for PFAS reduction. Carbon media adsorbs many PFAS compounds, capturing them as water flows through the tank. Because removal depends on contact time, selecting the proper tank size and flow rate is as important as the carbon itself. Installed at the point of entry, a GAC system treats water for every tap in your Century home rather than relying only on small under-sink cartridges.
A whole-house GAC filter for PFDoA usually includes prefiltration to prevent the carbon bed from clogging with sediment and losing effectiveness. Long-term performance relies on replacing the media on schedule, since the carbon’s adsorption capacity will eventually be used up. The aim is steady reduction across changing household demands — from showers to dishwashers and outdoor spigots. Mr. Pure Water can help Century homeowners size and configure a whole-house carbon system focused on PFAS treatment, including PFDoA.
