PFDoA in Marcy Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of PFDoA in the Water Supply of Marcy Florida Homes

PFDoA is one of the PFAS often called a “forever chemical” because it resists breakdown and can remain in the environment and in water supplies for a long time. Marcy homeowners may hear about PFAS in the news and wonder whether similar compounds could be in their own taps. Even when water looks clear and tastes normal — especially in our humid subtropical climate — PFDoA can be present without any noticeable odor, color, or flavor, which is why testing and targeted treatment are common next steps.

PFDoA can make its way into water systems through industrial uses and fluorinated products, and it can travel once released into the environment. Because PFAS behave differently than familiar issues like sediment or mineral deposits, a basic sediment cartridge won’t reliably remove them. Many Marcy residents choose a solution that treats water where it enters the house so every faucet, shower and appliance gets protection; a whole-house system is a common choice for reducing everyday exposure from bathing, laundry and cooking.
