Including filter system and high-performance PFDoA filter.
PFDoA is a type of PFAS often called a “forever chemical” because it can linger in the environment and in water supplies. Postil homeowners may see PFAS stories in the news and wonder whether related compounds could be in their own tap water. Even when water looks clear and tastes normal, PFDoA and similar PFAS can be present without any smell, color, or obvious sign — which is why awareness, testing, and targeted treatment are important next steps for families here.
PFDoA can reach water sources from industrial uses of fluorinated chemistry and may move far from its original release point. Because PFAS behave differently than common plumbing issues like sediment or hard water, a basic sediment cartridge won’t reliably remove them. Many Postil homeowners choose to treat water where it enters the house so the whole household — from showers to the kitchen — benefits rather than relying only on point-of-use devices.
For PFDoA, the most effective single home treatment is a well-designed granular activated carbon (GAC) whole-house system made for PFAS reduction. GAC media adsorbs many PFAS compounds as water flows through the tank, so contact time, proper tank sizing, and appropriate flow rates are as important as the carbon itself. Installed at the service entrance, a GAC system treats every tap in your Postil home instead of depending solely on small under-sink cartridges.
A whole-house GAC system for PFDoA works best with prefiltration to keep the carbon bed from clogging with sediment and shortening its lifespan. Performance also relies on scheduled media replacement because the carbon’s adsorption capacity is finite. The objective is steady PFAS reduction across varying household use — from showers and laundry to outdoor hoses — and Mr. Pure Water can help size and set up a whole-house carbon system tailored to PFAS-focused treatment for Postil homes.
