Including filter system and high-performance PFHpS filter.
PFHpS is one of the PFAS family members that can persist in drinking water for a long time. Ocean Vue homeowners typically hear about it from a private test, a utility communication, or local PFAS coverage, and often prefer treating water where it enters the house instead of relying on a pitcher or point-of-use unit. A whole-house solution protects showers, laundry, and all faucets so the entire home gets treated water.
Even when water appears clear and tastes fine, PFHpS and related PFAS often have no detectable odor or flavor. These compounds travel to water supplies through various pathways, so testing is the most dependable way to know whether they’re present in your household plumbing. Once you have results, you can choose a filtration system that targets PFAS while meeting your home’s flow and usage patterns in Ocean Vue’s humid subtropical setting.
To reduce PFHpS throughout an entire home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the best single-filter choice. Quality GAC media adsorbs many PFAS—including longer-chain types like PFHpS—and can handle continuous, whole-home flow when installed on the main line. That means treated water reaches bathrooms, the kitchen, and laundry, lowering exposure from drinking, cooking, and everyday use.
PFHpS reduction with GAC depends on contact time and media condition, so systems must be sized for your household flow and demand. Proper bed depth and service flow in a whole-house GAC tank help the carbon capture PFAS more effectively, and periodic media replacement prevents breakthrough as the carbon becomes exhausted. Mr. Pure Water can assess your Ocean Vue home and recommend the right whole-house carbon system—also advising on coastal care to reduce salt-air corrosion and maintain reliable service after storms.
