Including filter system and high-performance PFHxA filter.
PFHxA is one of the PFAS family members that can show up in drinking water even at very low concentrations. Chason homeowners usually hear about it from a utility notice, local news or a private test, and because PFHxA is persistent many people in the area choose reduction over wait-and-see. Installing protection at the main line treats water throughout your Chason house so showers, laundry and kitchen taps are all covered rather than relying on a single point-of-use device.
PFHxA won’t necessarily change how water tastes, smells, or looks, so you can’t count on senses to detect it in a Chason home. That makes testing the most reliable way to learn what’s in your supply. When test results suggest treatment, systems that use adsorption media are commonly chosen because they can capture PFAS compounds. It’s also important the chosen system can meet your household’s daily flow and usage patterns so performance remains effective for everyone in the house.
The most effective single whole-house filter type for reducing PFHxA is a high-quality activated carbon system—typically granular activated carbon (GAC) with adequate contact time. Carbon adsorption is widely used for PFAS because the media attracts and holds these compounds as water moves through the bed. A properly sized whole-home GAC unit treats water for every faucet and fixture in Chason without the flow limits that can affect under-sink point-of-use filters; matching tank size and carbon volume to your home’s demand is essential to consistent removal.
A whole-house GAC filter is mounted at the water entry point so PFHxA is addressed before it reaches Chason plumbing and fixtures. Media type, bed depth and service flow rate all influence contact time—higher flows can shorten contact and reduce removal—so correct sizing matters. Regular media replacement is also crucial because a spent carbon bed won’t continue to capture PFHxA effectively. Mr. Pure Water can size and install a whole-house carbon filtration system for your Chason property and help you keep maintenance straightforward.
