Including filter system and high-performance PFHxA filter.
PFHxA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can be detected in drinking water at trace levels. In Country Club Isles many homeowners first hear about it from utility notices, news stories, or private lab testing, and because PFHxA is persistent people often choose to reduce their exposure rather than only monitor it. Installing treatment at the main water entry gives you protection for showers, laundry and all faucets instead of limiting treatment to the kitchen sink.
PFHxA usually doesn’t change water’s taste, smell, or appearance, so you can’t rely on senses alone—testing is the only way to know what’s present in your supply. If results indicate concern, the typical treatment approach is adsorption media that captures PFAS compounds. In Broward County homes like those in Country Club Isles, make sure any system you choose can meet your household’s flow and daily water use, and that it performs well with hard, mineral-rich municipal water.
The single most effective whole-house filter type for reducing PFHxA is a high-quality activated carbon system, generally using granular activated carbon (GAC) sized to provide sufficient contact time. Carbon adsorption is widely used for PFAS because the media attracts and retains these compounds as water moves through the bed. A properly sized whole-house GAC unit treats all water in the home—showers, laundry and every faucet—without the low flow limits of point-of-use filters, so be sure the tank size and carbon volume match your home’s demand.
A whole-house GAC filter is installed at the main water line so PFHxA is addressed before it reaches plumbing and fixtures—a practical benefit in Country Club Isles where hard, mineral-heavy water can cause scale and corrosion concerns. Media type, bed depth and service flow rate affect performance because higher flows reduce contact time; regular media replacement is also critical since saturated carbon won’t keep removing PFHxA. Mr. Pure Water can assess your Broward County home, size the GAC tank correctly, and set up a system that’s easy to maintain.
