Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one member of the PFAS family, often called a “forever chemical” because it lingers in the environment. In Brickell Hammock many homeowners first hear about PFHxS when water-quality testing or PFAS screening is discussed, but you won’t detect it by sight, smell, or taste—only testing reveals its presence. If you’d like more control over what comes into your Miami-Dade County home, installing point-of-entry (whole-house) treatment is a practical way to manage what enters every tap.
PFHxS is linked to industrial uses of PFAS, so traces can turn up in water sources and are not reliably removed by basic filters. Pitcher filters or simple sediment cartridges may cut visible particles but aren’t designed to remove dissolved PFAS from your supply. That’s why many Brickell Hammock residents choose a system that treats all water used for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry rather than relying on clean water from just one faucet.
The single filter type most commonly recommended for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Carbon’s porous surface can adsorb many organic contaminants, including certain PFAS, and in a whole-house configuration it’s important to provide enough contact time for PFHxS to bind. A correctly sized GAC tank on the main service line gives Brickell-area homes treated water before it reaches any fixture or appliance.
Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house carbon systems around real household conditions—flow rates, bed depth, and media volume—rather than a small cartridge trying to do everything. That approach matters for Brickell Hammock homes, where hard Miami-area water can increase scale and affect system performance; matching system size to your plumbing and usage helps maintain pressure and long-term PFHxS reduction. If you want consistent protection across faucets, showers, and appliances, a dedicated whole-house GAC filter is the straightforward choice.
