Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one member of the broader PFAS family, often called a “forever chemical” because it can remain in the environment for a long time. In Cabana Colony you might see PFHxS listed when your water utility or a private lab reports on PFAS compounds. Because PFHxS has no smell, taste, or visible signs, it can go unnoticed without testing — and many local homeowners choose point-of-entry treatment to gain more control over what enters their houses from the main line.
PFHxS has been used in various industrial and consumer applications, so traces can appear in water sources and are not always removed by simple filters. Pitcher filters or basic sediment cartridges can help with visible particles and scale — a useful note in hard-water Palm Beach County — but they aren’t built to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS. That is why many homeowners in Cabana Colony opt for a solution that treats all incoming water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry rather than relying on one faucet to be “clean.”
The most commonly recommended single filter for PFHxS removal is a whole-house activated carbon system, typically one using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous matrix can adsorb many organic contaminants, including certain PFAS, and a whole-house GAC tank gives the water more contact time with the media — a key factor for PFHxS to bind effectively. Installed at the main service line, a properly sized GAC unit treats water before it reaches any fixture in your Cabana Colony home.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems around real household conditions in the Palm Beach–West Palm Beach area, accounting for flow rate, bed depth, and media volume rather than expecting a small cartridge to do everything. That’s important for PFHxS because treatment depends on contact time and how quickly the media loads up — especially in hard-water areas where mineral scale is a common concern. We’ll size and place the GAC tank to match your Cabana Colony plumbing and usage so you get continuous filtration without losing pressure; for treating PFHxS throughout the house, a dedicated whole-house GAC filter is the practical option.
