Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one of the PFAS chemicals people call a “forever chemical” because it can persist in the environment. In Cerrogordo you won’t be able to see, smell, or taste PFHxS if it’s present—the compound is typically detected only through water testing or utility reports that list specific PFAS. If you’d like greater control over what enters your home, a point-of-entry (whole-house) treatment is a practical way to protect every faucet and appliance.
Because PFHxS has links to industrial uses and other PFAS-containing products, it can be challenging for simple filters to handle. Pitcher filters, basic faucet attachments, and sediment cartridges may remove particles but aren’t built to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS. Many Cerrogordo homeowners prefer a whole-house solution so drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry water all get treated instead of having “clean water” at just one tap.
The single filter type most commonly recommended for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system, particularly one using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous structure can adsorb many organic compounds, including certain PFAS, and in a whole-house installation the goal is to provide enough contact time between your Cerrogordo water and the carbon so PFHxS can bind. A correctly sized GAC tank installed at the main water line treats water before it reaches any fixture.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems around real household needs—flow rate, bed depth, and media volume matter more than relying on a small cartridge. That’s important for PFHxS because effectiveness depends on how long water contacts the carbon and how the media performs as it loads. We’ll size a GAC system to match your Cerrogordo home’s usage and plumbing so you maintain good pressure while treating water throughout the house.
