Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one of the PFAS chemicals people call “forever chemicals” because it can linger in the environment. In Eustis you won’t notice PFHxS by sight, smell, or taste—utilities may only flag it when they test for PFAS or list specific compounds in water reports. For homeowners around Lake Eustis and nearby neighborhoods, a point-of-entry (whole-house) treatment gives you more control over what enters your plumbing than relying on tap-by-tap fixes.
PFHxS has been used in various industrial and consumer applications, so it can appear in water sources at low concentrations and be stubborn to remove with basic filters. Simple pitcher filters or sediment cartridges can catch particles but aren’t built to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS like PFHxS. Many Eustis homeowners prefer a whole-house solution so all water used for cooking, bathing, and laundry is treated consistently, rather than having “clean water” only at a single faucet.
The most commonly recommended single option for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system, especially one using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). GAC is widely selected for PFAS reduction because its porous surface can adsorb organic compounds, including certain PFAS. In a whole-house installation the important factor is contact time—water flowing slowly through a properly sized carbon bed in Eustis’s hard water conditions gives PFHxS a better chance to bind before it reaches your taps.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house GAC systems for real homes in Lake County, paying attention to flow rate, bed depth, and media volume rather than depending on a small cartridge. That approach matters for PFHxS because performance depends on how long water interacts with the carbon and how quickly the media loads up over time—especially in hard-water areas like Eustis that can affect system performance. We’ll size the tank to your household’s usage and plumbing so you get reliable filtration to every fixture without losing pressure; for treating PFHxS throughout the house, a dedicated whole-house GAC system is the practical choice.
