Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one member of the PFAS family—often called “forever chemicals” because they persist in the environment. In Fairlawn you won’t detect PFHxS by smell, taste, or sight; it typically appears only when water is tested or when utility reports list specific PFAS compounds. If you’d like more control over the water entering your Fairlawn home, installing point-of-entry treatment is a practical, whole-home step.
Because PFHxS has been used in industrial and consumer products, it can reach water sources in trace amounts and is not always removed by simple filters. Pitcher filters and basic sediment cartridges may catch particles but won’t reliably reduce dissolved PFAS. Many Fairlawn homeowners therefore prefer a system that treats all household water—drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry—rather than relying on a single tap filter.
The most commonly recommended option for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous surface can adsorb organic contaminants, including certain PFAS, and in a whole-house arrangement the important factor is allowing sufficient contact time between the water and the carbon. A correctly sized GAC tank installed at the main line treats water before it reaches any faucet in your Fairlawn home.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems around real household needs—flow rate, bed depth, and media volume—not small cartridges. That approach matters for Fairlawn’s hard, limestone-aquifer–fed water because PFHxS performance depends on contact time and how quickly the media loads. We’ll size a GAC system to match your home’s usage and plumbing so you maintain pressure while treating all water throughout the house.
