Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one of the PFAS chemicals sometimes called a “forever chemical” because it persists in the environment. In Ferry Pass you won’t notice PFHxS by sight, smell, or taste—home water testing or utility reports are how people learn it’s present. If you want more control over the water entering your Ferry Pass home, installing a point-of-entry system that treats all incoming water is a sensible next step.
PFHxS has been linked to industrial uses of PFAS, so it can appear in water sources in trace amounts and won’t be solved by basic filters. Countertop pitchers and simple sediment cartridges may remove particles or improve taste, but they aren’t built to reliably lower dissolved PFAS compounds. That’s why many Ferry Pass homeowners choose a system that treats all water coming into the house, rather than relying on single-faucet solutions.
The most commonly recommended single filter for PFHxS removal is a whole-house activated carbon system using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous structure adsorbs many organic compounds, including some PFAS, and a properly sized GAC tank installed at the main line gives the water the contact time needed for PFHxS to bind. For Ferry Pass homes, a correctly sized whole-house GAC unit treats water before it reaches any tap, delivering consistent protection throughout the house.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems around flow rate, bed depth, and media volume so Ferry Pass households get reliable PFHxS reduction without losing pressure. Performance depends on how long water contacts the carbon and how quickly the media fills up, so we size systems to your household usage and plumbing. If you want PFHxS addressed across every faucet and appliance, a dedicated whole-house GAC filter is the practical, effective choice.
