PFHxS in Golden Lakes Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of PFHxS in the Water Supply of Golden Lakes Florida Homes

PFHxS is one of the PFAS chemicals often called a “forever chemical” because it persists in the environment. You might see PFHxS listed when water tests or utility reports identify individual PFAS compounds, but it’s invisible and usually undetectable by taste or smell without testing. For homeowners in Golden Lakes who want greater control over what enters their pipes, treating the water at the point of entry — before it reaches faucets and appliances — is a sensible, proactive choice.

Because PFHxS has been used in industrial and consumer products, trace amounts can appear in water supplies and often aren’t effectively removed by basic filters. Simple pitcher filters or sediment cartridges may catch particles but aren’t designed to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS. Many Golden Lakes homeowners prefer a treatment that protects drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry water throughout the house rather than cleaning only a single tap.
