Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one member of the PFAS family, often called a “forever chemical” because it can persist in the environment for a long time. Holt homeowners may see PFHxS named on water quality reports or hear about it when utilities test for PFAS compounds. Because you can’t see, smell, or taste PFHxS, testing is the only reliable way to know if it’s present — and many Holt residents choose point-of-entry treatment to take control of what enters their homes.
PFHxS has been used in some industrial products and can appear at low levels in water, making it hard to remove with basic filters. Common pitcher filters or simple sediment cartridges may capture particles but are not engineered to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS like PFHxS. Many Holt families prefer a solution that treats all household water — for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry — so clean water isn’t limited to a single faucet.
The most commonly recommended single option for PFHxS removal is a whole-house activated carbon system, particularly one using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous structure adsorbs many organic compounds, including certain PFAS, and a properly configured whole-house GAC system in Holt gives the water enough contact time with the media to improve removal. Sizing the GAC tank for your home ensures water is treated before it reaches any tap.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems around real household needs — matching flow rate, bed depth, and media volume to your plumbing and usage in Holt. That approach matters for PFHxS because effective reduction depends on contact time and how quickly the media loads over months of use. We’ll help you choose a dedicated whole-house GAC filter so you get consistent filtration across the entire home without compromising pressure.
