Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one of the PFAS chemicals often called “forever chemicals” because they persist in the environment. In Imperial Point you might see PFHxS mentioned in utility testing or water-quality discussions even though it’s invisible — you can’t taste, smell, or see it in your tap water without testing. For homeowners who want more control over contaminants coming into the house, treating water where it enters the plumbing (point-of-entry) is a sensible, proactive option.
PFHxS has been used in products and industrial applications tied to the broader PFAS family, so it can appear at low levels in water and isn’t always removed by basic filters. Simple pitcher filters or sediment cartridges handle particles but aren’t engineered to reliably capture dissolved PFAS. That’s why many Imperial Point homeowners choose a solution that treats all household water — covering drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry — rather than relying on a single “clean” faucet.
The most commonly recommended single filter type for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon adsorbs many organic compounds, including certain PFAS, and in a whole-house installation the goal is sufficient contact time between the water and the carbon so PFHxS can bind. A properly sized GAC tank installed at the main water line treats supply before it reaches any tap in your Imperial Point home.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems for real homes in Broward County, accounting for flow rate, bed depth, and media volume instead of relying on a small cartridge to do a big job. That matters in coastal South Florida where moderate hardness can encourage scale and where consistent pressure and capacity are important across showers, appliances, and irrigation. We’ll size a GAC system to match your Imperial Point plumbing and usage so the media provides longer contact time and steadier PFHxS reduction throughout the house.
