Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one member of the PFAS family, often called a “forever chemical” because it persists in the environment. In Key Biscayne you might see PFHxS listed when municipal testing or water-quality reports break out individual PFAS compounds. You won’t be able to detect PFHxS by smell, taste, or sight, so it usually remains hidden without proper testing — and many homeowners choose point-of-entry treatment to take control of what enters the house.
PFHxS has industrial ties and can be stubborn in water, where simple filters like pitchers or basic sediment cartridges won’t reliably remove dissolved PFAS. That’s why many Key Biscayne residents prefer a solution that treats all household water — drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry — rather than relying on one countertop faucet to do the job.
The most commonly recommended single option for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Because activated carbon’s porous structure adsorbs many organic compounds, a properly sized GAC tank on the main water line gives PFHxS more contact time with the media, improving removal before water reaches any tap in your Key Biscayne home.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house GAC systems around real home conditions — flow rates, bed depth, and media volume — not small cartridges. That approach matters for Key Biscayne properties, where hard water and coastal salt air can affect plumbing and scale, because effective PFHxS reduction depends on sufficient contact time and correctly sized media so the system performs consistently without dropping household water pressure.
