Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one member of the PFAS family often called “forever chemicals” because they persist in the environment. In Koerber homeowners may see PFHxS listed when utilities or water reports test for individual PFAS compounds. You won’t be able to see, smell, or taste PFHxS in your tap water, so testing or point-of-entry treatment is the only reliable way to know what’s coming into your home.
Because PFHxS has been used in some industrial and consumer applications, trace amounts can end up in water sources and aren’t easily removed by simple filters. Pitcher filters or basic sediment cartridges may trap particles but aren’t designed to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS. Many Koerber residents therefore choose a whole-house solution so all water used for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry receives consistent treatment instead of leaving clean water at only one faucet.
The most commonly recommended single filter type for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system, particularly one using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous structure can adsorb a range of organic compounds, including some PFAS, and in a whole-house installation the important factor is contact time—giving PFHxS a chance to bind to the carbon. A properly sized GAC tank installed at the main line treats incoming water before it reaches any tap in your Koerber home.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems around real household needs—flow rate, bed depth, and media volume—not small cartridges that wear out quickly. For PFHxS, performance depends on how long water contacts the carbon and how fast the media loads over time. We’ll size a GAC tank to match your Koerber plumbing and water use so you get steady filtration without losing pressure; for treating PFHxS throughout the house, a dedicated whole-house GAC filter is the practical choice.
