Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one member of the PFAS family, often called a “forever chemical” because it can linger in the environment for a long time. Lely Resort homeowners might see PFHxS listed on water quality notices or in utility testing for PFAS, yet you won’t detect it by sight, smell, or taste without lab testing. If you’re in Collier County and want more control over what enters your home—especially given hard water’s impact on plumbing—installing point-of-entry treatment is a sensible way to manage contaminants before they reach faucets and appliances.
PFHxS has been used in industrial and consumer products containing PFAS, so it can appear in water sources at low concentrations and isn’t easily removed by basic filters. Pitcher filters or simple sediment cartridges handle visible particles but aren’t made to remove dissolved PFAS compounds reliably. That’s why many Naples–Marco Island area homeowners opt for treatment that protects drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry water throughout the house instead of relying on a single “clean” faucet.
The most commonly recommended single solution for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system, particularly one using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous surface can adsorb many organic contaminants, including some PFAS, and in a whole-house configuration the goal is to provide sufficient contact time so PFHxS can bind to the media. A correctly sized GAC tank installed at the main water line treats water before it reaches any tap in your Lely Resort home.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems for real homes—accounting for flow rate, bed depth, and media volume rather than expecting a small cartridge to handle the job. That matters for PFHxS because effective reduction depends on how long water contacts the carbon and how quickly the media becomes exhausted. We’ll size a GAC tank to match your household use and plumbing in Lely Resort so you get consistent filtration without losing water pressure; for addressing PFHxS throughout the house, a dedicated whole-house GAC system is the practical choice.
