Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one of the PFAS family, sometimes called a “forever chemical” because it can stick around in the environment. In Lindgren homeowners may see PFHxS listed on utility reports or in conversations about PFAS testing, even though you can’t see, smell, or taste it in your water. Because humid subtropical conditions here can influence local water concerns, many residents choose point-of-entry (whole-house) treatment to take practical control over what enters their home.
PFHxS has been linked to industrial and product uses of PFAS, so it can appear in water sources in trace amounts and is not easily removed by basic filters. Common pitcher systems or simple sediment cartridges may catch particulates but aren’t designed to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS like PFHxS. That’s why many Lindgren households opt for whole-house solutions: they provide consistent treatment for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry rather than clean water at a single faucet.
The filter type most often recommended for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system, particularly one using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous surface can adsorb many organic compounds, including certain PFAS, and a well-sized GAC tank gives water the contact time needed for PFHxS to bind. Installed at the main line, a properly designed GAC unit treats water before it reaches any tap in your Lindgren home.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems around real household needs—flow rate, bed depth, and media volume—not small cartridges trying to do a big job. That approach matters for PFHxS because effective reduction depends on contact time and how quickly the media becomes loaded. We’ll size a GAC system for your Lindgren plumbing and usage so you get steady filtration without losing pressure; for treating PFHxS throughout the home, a dedicated whole-house GAC filter is the clear, practical choice.
