Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one of the PFAS family often called a “forever chemical” because it persists in the environment. In Ocean Vue you might hear about PFHxS when water testing or reports list specific PFAS compounds, but you won’t detect it by sight, smell, or taste—testing is the only way to know if it’s present. If you want more control over what enters your home, installing point-of-entry treatment for the whole house is a practical, proactive step.
Because PFHxS has been used in industrial and consumer products, trace amounts can end up in water and are harder to address with basic filters. Pitcher filters and simple sediment cartridges may catch particles but aren’t designed to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS. Many Ocean Vue homeowners prefer a solution that treats all water used for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry so you don’t end up with “clean water in one faucet” and unfiltered water elsewhere.
The most commonly recommended single option for PFHxS removal is a whole-house activated carbon system using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon is effective at adsorbing many organic compounds, including certain PFAS, because of its porous structure. For Ocean Vue homes, the important factor is providing enough contact time between the water and carbon so PFHxS can bind—properly sized GAC at the main line treats water before it reaches any tap.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems for real-life use in Ocean Vue, accounting for flow rate, bed depth, and media volume rather than relying on a small cartridge. That matters for PFHxS because removal depends on how long water interacts with the carbon and how quickly the media loads over time. We’ll size and place the system to match your home’s usage and plumbing so you keep good pressure and consistent treatment throughout the house—especially important in coastal Florida where salt air and occasional service disruptions can affect equipment.
