Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one of the PFAS compounds people talk about when testing for “forever chemicals,” because it can persist in the environment. In Paola, homeowners may see PFHxS listed on water reports or mentioned by utilities during PFAS testing. You can’t taste, smell, or see PFHxS, so it typically goes unnoticed without testing — which is why many Paola residents choose point-of-entry treatment to take control of what enters their home.
PFHxS has been used in industrial products and can appear in water sources at low levels, and it isn’t effectively removed by simple filters. Pitcher filters or basic sediment cartridges may handle visible particles, but they aren’t designed to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS like PFHxS. That’s why many Paola homeowners opt for a solution that treats all the water used for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry, rather than relying on a single faucet treatment.
The filter type most commonly recommended for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system, typically using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous surface can adsorb organic compounds, including certain PFAS, and in a whole-house configuration it’s important to allow sufficient contact time so PFHxS can bind to the media. A properly sized GAC tank installed at the main line treats Paola’s water before it reaches any tap for more consistent protection.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems around real household needs — flow rate, bed depth, and media volume — rather than relying on a small cartridge to do a big job. That approach matters for PFHxS because performance depends on contact time and how quickly the media loads, and we’ll size the system to your Paola home and moderate water hardness so you get steady filtration without losing pressure.
