Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one member of the PFAS family — often called “forever chemicals” because they persist in the environment. Princeton homeowners may first encounter PFHxS on utility water-quality reports or when testing for PFAS compounds. You won’t detect PFHxS by smell, taste, or sight, so it typically goes unnoticed without laboratory testing; adding point-of-entry treatment is a practical way to take control of what enters your house.
Because PFHxS has been linked to industrial uses and legacy PFAS-containing products, it can appear in source water at low concentrations and resist basic filters. Simple pitcher filters or sediment cartridges can help with visible particles, but they aren’t engineered to reliably remove dissolved PFAS like PFHxS. Many Princeton residents prefer a whole-house solution so drinking, cooking, bathing and laundry water are treated consistently rather than relying on a single faucet filter.
The single filter type most commonly recommended for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system, particularly one using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Activated carbon’s porous surface can adsorb a range of organic compounds, including certain PFAS, and a properly sized GAC tank installed at the main supply gives water sufficient contact time for PFHxS to bind to the media before reaching your taps in Princeton.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems for real homes in Miami-Dade County, accounting for flow rate, bed depth and media volume rather than relying on a small cartridge. That matters for PFHxS removal because performance depends on contact time and how quickly the media loads, especially in areas with hard municipal water like Princeton where scale can affect plumbing and appliances. We’ll size and place a dedicated GAC tank to match your household usage so you get consistent filtration without sacrificing pressure.
