Including filter system and high-performance PFHxS filter.
PFHxS is one of the PFAS chemicals people often call a “forever chemical” because it can linger in the environment. In Rockledge you might see PFHxS listed when water tests or consumer confidence reports name specific PFAS compounds. Because PFHxS has no taste, smell, or color, it usually goes unnoticed without testing — which is why many homeowners choose point-of-entry treatment to take control of the water coming into their house.
PFHxS has been used in some industrial and consumer products, so small amounts can appear in water and be tough to remove with basic filters. Simple pitchers or sediment cartridges may catch particles but aren’t built to reliably reduce dissolved PFAS like PFHxS. Many homeowners in Brevard County prefer treating all incoming water so drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry aren’t left to a single faucet-treated cup.
The most commonly recommended single option for PFHxS is a whole-house activated carbon system using high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC). Carbon’s porous surface can adsorb various organic compounds, including certain PFAS, and a whole-house GAC tank sized correctly gives the water the contact time needed for better PFHxS reduction before it reaches your taps.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house carbon systems to match real homes across Rockledge and the Space Coast, accounting for flow rates, bed depth and media volume rather than relying on a small cartridge. That’s important here, where hard water is common and scale can affect plumbing and appliances; proper sizing keeps pressure steady and helps the carbon perform longer. If you want PFHxS reduction throughout your house, a dedicated whole-house GAC filter is the practical, reliable choice.
