Including filter system and high-performance PFMBA filter.
PFMBA is part of the broader PFAS family and can enter drinking water through industrial use or from the breakdown of other fluorinated compounds. Because these chemicals persist, trace amounts can remain in water sources and are not always removed by standard treatment. In Creels, as anywhere, PFMBA may be present without any noticeable change in taste, smell, or appearance, so the only reliable way to know is through proper water testing and clear laboratory results you can act on.
If testing shows elevated PFMBA, most homeowners want a straightforward, whole-house solution. Countertop pitchers and faucet-mounted filters can help in one spot but won’t protect every tap and often aren’t optimized for PFAS. A whole-house system treats water at the point it enters your Creels home so drinking water, bathing water, laundry and appliances all receive the same treatment, giving you consistent protection without changing how your household uses water daily.
For reducing PFMBA, the best whole-house option is an activated carbon system using high-quality media and extended contact time. Because PFMBA is a short-chain PFAS, it can be more challenging to remove than longer-chain types, so tank design and media volume matter. A properly sized carbon tank in a whole-house arrangement provides longer contact between water and media than small cartridges, improving removal before water reaches any fixture in your Creels residence.
Mr. Pure Water’s whole-house activated carbon systems are sized to your household’s flow and usage so the media can work effectively rather than being overwhelmed. For Creels homeowners, we recommend pairing certified water testing with system selection and a maintenance schedule so you know the filter is performing as intended. The outcome is more consistent, cleaner water at every tap without relying on multiple point-of-use filters.
