Including filter system and high-performance PFMBA filter.
PFMBA is one of the PFAS family of chemicals that can enter drinking water from industrial use or from the breakdown of other fluorinated compounds. Because PFMBA persists, trace amounts can remain in water and standard treatments often struggle to remove it. Homeowners in Nevins usually won’t see a difference in taste, smell, or clarity if PFMBA is present, so testing is the only reliable way to know what’s in your supply and to get results you can act on.
If testing in Nevins indicates elevated PFMBA, many families want a clear, home‑wide solution. Small point‑of‑use devices like pitchers or faucet filters can offer limited benefit, but they only protect individual taps and may not be optimized for PFAS removal. A whole‑house system treats water as it enters your plumbing so kitchens, bathrooms, laundry and showers all receive the same treated water — a practical choice in Nevins where hard water and scale from groundwater are common concerns and consistent water quality matters to every household.
The most effective single style of whole‑house filter for PFMBA is an activated carbon system using high‑quality media and extended contact time. Because PFMBA is a short‑chain PFAS, it’s generally more challenging to capture than some longer‑chain compounds, so system design is important. A properly sized carbon tank in a whole‑house configuration gives water longer residence time in the media bed than small cartridges, improving reduction before water reaches any fixture in your Nevins home.
Mr. Pure Water’s whole‑house activated carbon systems are specified to match your household flow so the media can work without being overwhelmed. In Nevins, where groundwater often causes hard water and scale, we size systems for your actual water use and recommend testing plus a maintenance plan so PFMBA — which you can’t see or smell — is addressed reliably. The outcome is treated water at every tap without depending on multiple small filters.
