Including filter system and high-performance PFMBA filter.
PFMBA is part of the PFAS family and can enter drinking water through industrial uses or from the breakdown of other fluorinated chemicals. It’s persistent in the environment, so trace amounts can remain in water sources and aren’t always removed by basic treatment. Often there are no obvious changes in taste, smell, or appearance when PFMBA is present, so Stern homeowners who are concerned should rely on proper water testing and clear lab results to know what’s in their supply.
If testing shows elevated PFMBA, a simple, whole-home plan can give local families peace of mind. Single-tap pitchers or faucet filters may reduce some contaminants but treat only one outlet and may not be optimized for PFAS removal. A whole-house system installed where water enters your Stern home treats water for every use — sinks, showers, laundry and appliances — delivering consistent protection throughout your plumbing without changing everyday routines.
For PFMBA, the most effective whole-house option is an activated carbon system using high-quality media designed for extended contact time. Because PFMBA is a short-chain PFAS, it can be more challenging to remove than longer-chain varieties, so system design is important. A correctly sized carbon tank increases the time water spends in the media bed, improving reduction compared with smaller cartridge-style filters, and in a whole-house arrangement that treatment occurs before water reaches any fixture in your Stern residence.
Mr. Pure Water’s whole-house activated carbon systems are sized for your household’s flow and water use so the media can work effectively rather than being overwhelmed. Because PFMBA isn’t detectable by taste or smell, we pair filtration recommendations with water testing and a maintenance plan to keep performance consistent. The outcome for Stern homeowners is cleaner, whole-home water at every tap without relying on multiple point-of-use filters.
