Including filter system and high-performance PFMPA filter.
PFMPA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can travel through the environment and end up in drinking water, often without any change in taste, smell, or appearance. If your Telogia household lab results show PFMPA, it’s understandable to want a clear, practical response. A whole-house filtration strategy treats water as it enters your home so your showers, laundry and kitchen faucets all get the same protection, not just the water you draw from the sink.
Even clear water can contain trace contaminants, and PFMPA isn’t something a basic sediment cartridge will remove. Boiling won’t reliably eliminate PFAS and can even concentrate some contaminants as water evaporates. Because PFMPA belongs to the broader PFAS family, many Telogia homeowners prefer a treatment approach designed to capture low-level contaminants consistently over time, with the aim of reducing PFMPA exposure across everyday uses like bathing and cooking.
For PFMPA, a high-quality activated carbon whole-house filter is typically the most effective single option for reducing PFAS at the point of entry. Carbon media adsorbs many organic compounds as water flows through, so installing it where water enters your Telogia home means every faucet, shower and appliance benefits. Proper system design emphasizes sufficient carbon volume and contact time to focus on PFAS reduction, not just improving taste or odor.
Because PFMPA is relatively mobile compared with some longer-chain PFAS, performance hinges on choosing carbon media formulated for PFAS and sizing the system to your household’s flow and daily usage. A correctly sized Telogia whole-house carbon system will include prefiltration to protect the carbon from sediment and preserve contact time. Like all adsorption filters, the carbon must be changed on schedule to avoid exhaustion; Mr. Pure Water can help you match the right PFMPA-focused carbon system to your water test and routine needs.
