Including filter system and high-performance PFNA filter.
PFNA is part of the PFAS family of synthetic chemicals that can show up in drinking water. Fidelis homeowners may encounter information about PFNA through local water reports, news stories, or independent lab tests. Because PFAS are persistent in the environment, it’s reasonable to learn which treatment options can reduce your household exposure. For residents of Fidelis, the first step is understanding realistic whole-home solutions that fit your property and daily use.
Unlike many contaminants, PFNA usually doesn’t affect how water tastes, smells, or looks, so it can be present without any obvious signs. It can reach wells and surface supplies through industrial pathways, manufacturing, or runoff that carries PFAS into water sources. Since PFAS includes many related compounds, thinking about treatment in Fidelis often means addressing PFAS as a group rather than focusing solely on a single chemical. A whole-house system helps ensure water used for bathing, laundry and cooking across your Fidelis home is treated consistently.
To reduce PFNA as water enters a Fidelis home, a single whole-house activated carbon filter is commonly the most practical and effective option. High-quality carbon media is widely used because it adsorbs many organic contaminants while water flows through the tank. Installed on the main water line, this approach treats every faucet and appliance without changing household routines. The important factors are choosing the proper carbon type and allowing sufficient contact time to support meaningful PFNA reduction.
Mr. Pure Water recommends a whole-house carbon system sized to your Fidelis household’s peak flow so PFNA reduction is sustained when demand is highest. Correct sizing and the right media matter because PFAS removal can vary with different compounds and water chemistry. Scheduled maintenance and timely media replacement preserve the system’s adsorption capacity over time. If testing shows PFAS concerns beyond PFNA, a properly selected carbon whole-house filter remains a strong starting point for broader treatment.
