Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is a member of the PFAS family that can persist in the environment and remain in drinking water for long periods. Because it resists breaking down, small amounts introduced into a system can become a lingering issue. Bayhead residents often hear about PFOS from local water reports, news stories, or private testing, and the logical next step is confirming your own water quality and selecting a treatment that targets PFAS specifically.
PFOS usually has no taste or smell, so you can’t rely on how your tap water looks to know whether it’s present. That makes it a longer-term exposure concern rather than an acute nuisance. In Bayhead homes, a practical way to protect family water use is to treat the water where it enters your house so drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry are all covered.
The single most effective whole-house option for reducing PFOS is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) system formulated for PFAS. GAC removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto the media’s large surface area as water flows through. Because PFOS can be harder to remove than common taste-and-odor compounds, the quality of the carbon media, sufficient bed depth, and correct flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC unit can protect every faucet without needing multiple under-sink units.
A whole-house GAC filter mounts on the main supply so treated water reaches every fixture in your Bayhead home; to maintain PFOS reduction you’ll need correct sizing for peak flow and scheduled media replacements. Mr. Pure Water can suggest a whole-home carbon setup matched to your plumbing and usage, and we recommend periodic pre- and post-treatment testing if you want documented verification of ongoing performance.
