Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is one member of the PFAS family that can linger in water because it breaks down very slowly. Over time, even small amounts released into the environment can remain in a water supply, so homeowners often discover concerns from local reports, news, or a private test. In Belle Glade and the Western Palm Beach County area, the practical next step is confirming what’s in your well or utility water and selecting treatment aimed specifically at PFAS like PFOS.
PFOS generally has no taste or odor, so you can’t rely on how the water looks at the tap to know if it’s present. Because it’s mainly a long-term exposure issue rather than an immediate nuisance, many Belle Glade residents choose to treat water at the point of entry so beds, baths, cooking and laundry all receive the same protected water. Treating the whole house is a straightforward way to manage unseen contaminants as well as address scale and corrosion concerns common with the area’s hard groundwater.
For whole-house reduction of PFOS, high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) systems specifically designed for PFAS are the most effective single-filter choice. GAC removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto a large surface area as water flows through the media. Because PFOS can be tougher to capture than typical taste-and-odor compounds, the carbon quality, bed depth and correct flow rates are important—especially in Belle Glade where hard, mineral-rich groundwater and local plumbing considerations can affect system performance.
A whole-house GAC unit is mounted on the main water line so every fixture in your Belle Glade home gets treated water; it should be sized for your peak flow and serviced with scheduled media replacements. Mr. Pure Water can recommend a GAC configuration that fits your plumbing, household demand and PFOS-reduction goals, and follow-up testing before and after installation provides verification that the system continues to perform as expected.
